Elizabeth Seward is a multidisciplinary artist based in Portland, Oregon who explores stories and meaning through her work. Focusing on projects that span (and often connect) the worlds of journalism, communications, visual art, music, and making, Seward has spent 25 years refining her skills and craft. Raised in the woods of Appalachia, and then in the electricity of New York City, she finally found her home in the Pacific Northwest.

Seward’s art spans a variety of mediums. Her paintings often blend oil, acrylic, watercolor, pen, marker, and charcoal to create ethereal, imaginative pieces. Her music showcases the pairing of raw dissonance with melody, often centering vocal and guitar work. Her jewelry and other physical goods play with concepts of beauty, intuition, identity, and progress. A common thread woven throughout all her disciplines is a study of connection, resilience, courage, healing, justice, nature, love, and magic — themes she wields to cultivate empathy and understanding.

Seward's editorial work has been published by National Geographic, Cosmopolitan, Discovery, The Daily Dot, AOL, Narratively, Marie Claire, Yahoo, Vogue, Woman's Day, Elle, Country Living, Good Housekeeping, and HuffPost. Her endeavors at large have been covered by New York Times, Spin Magazine, Los Angeles Times, Alternative Press, Atwood Magazine, Vortex Magazine, and Portland Radio Project.

In the process of creating physical goods, Seward prioritizes using secondhand, eco-friendly, and ethically-sourced materials as much as possible.
